OVERALL PERSONALITY :: Roxanne is a very reckless girl, jumping into things without really thinking about it beforehand. These are ideal characteristics of a Gryffindor, so it wasn't really a surprise to anyone when she was sorted there. This rebellious nature is due to a number of different things. Firstly, her illness during her early childhood limited her, so when she was finally able to be free and have fun, she just did whatever she felt like doing because she wanted to experience as much as she could. Also, she's the child of one of the Weasley twins. Some of their mischievousness must have been passed on.
Roxanne is quite a strong character. Once she knows what she wants she doesn't stop until she gets it. She isn't selfish or arrogant, she's just very strong willed. She despises pathetic girls that cry over petty things, because they don't seem to realise how good they have it. Not only that, but it's just embarrassing to watch.
One of her less redeeming qualities is her jealousy. She can get easily jealous of others who have what she wants. For example, Roxanne's quite tall for her age and she's also very skinny (some have often said she's anorexic, but she most certianly isn't. It's only due to her illness at birth that's made her that skinny). No matter how much food she eats, she doesn't seem to be able to put on any weight, and she wants nothing more, to look like some of the curvy girls that are in the school. Although she doesn't like being jealous, she just can't help it.
Also, Roxanne can be quite insecure about how she looks. Most people believe she has an eating disorder (because they are not aware of her ill-health as a child) and this sometimes gets to Roxanne. Most of the time she's able to brush it off, but after a while it starts to get to her and she starts to notice other things that she thinks are wrong with her. She's thinks she's too tall, her hair is a weird colour, her head's too small. All of this adds up to Roxanne feeling very insecure about her looks.

HISTORY :: Roxanne was born on 19th November, 4 months or so before she was meant to be born. She'd like to say that she was a healthy baby, crying and demanding to be the center of attention, but she wasn't. She was very quiet, far too quiet. She was small. She was thin. She was gravely ill. Her parents have never gone quite into details with her about what was wrong with her, but all she does know is that she wasn't cured quickly.
She spent a lot of her time as a baby in St. Mungo's, and even when she left at 6 months old she was not back to full health. She was fragile. Easy to break, and for this reason her cousins and her brother weren't allowed near her for a long time. It wasn't until she was 6 years old that she was deemed healthy, but her mother and father still fretted over her, worrying about her health and whether she'd have a lapse. This was very restricting for Roxanne and looking back, she feels like she didn't get a normal childhood because of it.
Growing up, Roxanne spent a lot of her time with her older brother, Fred. Being two years older and very healthy, Roxanne looked up to him a lot and aspired to be like him. Due to his influence and her health, as a child she became reckless. This perhaps didn't help ease her parents' worry, but she didn't notice. She was to busy having fun that she hadn't been able to have during her earlier years.
When she was 9 years old, after years of begging, her father finally decided to teach her how to fly. It was a cool morning, and her mother had bundled her up up lots of coats and scarves (even after all those years, she was still very protective of her youngest child). George handed her his old broom and started to instruct her how to sit on it properly, but his assistance wasn't needed. She was already off before he could finish his sentence, and he watched her with pride. It was only to be expected that she loved to fly considering both her parents were excellent Quidditch players.
After that, Roxanne joined in with a lot of the family Quidditch games that they held at their grandparent's house. Before then, she'd had to sit and watch with her grandma while the rest of her family flew around having fun. She'd been told by her Healer that she wasn't strong enough to play Quidditch, so all she could do was watch with envy. It was only after the all clear by her Healer that she was actually allowed to join in.
She immediately found that she loved to play seeker. She was tall, but she was very thin which made her lightweight and ideal to be a seeker. Once her Uncle Harry found out, he'd often help her and give her tips. She was determined that she'd become seeker for a house team as soon as she got to Hogwarts.
Soon it was time for Roxanne to go to Hogwarts and she was sorted into Gryffindor House, but that wasn't much of a surprise. She was brave, independant and a little reckless at times and this made her an ideal Gryffindor. She found that she settled in at once into the Gryffindor House, and felt quite at home in the castle itself. But with a lot of her family there at the castle with her, it probably did help her settle in better.
She did reasonably well in classes, but many of the teachers already knew her through her family and they knew of her previous illness, so she had the advantage of some of the teachers never really wanting to push her. Well, some people saw it as an advantage. She saw it as a disadvantage. She believed she'd get nowhere in life if her teachers didn't push her to be the best she could be, but there wasn't anything she could really do about it. Even though she was now perfectly healthy, people never really saw past her previous ill-health and they treated her her differently for it, and she hated it. This is why she's never really told anyone else about it.

RP SAMPLE :: Marlene was currently laying on stomach, on her bed in the Gryffindor Girls' Dormitory. She'd pulled her pillow from the top of the bed and laid it at the bottom, which was where she was now resting her head. Once again, she looked at the empty parchment in front of her and sighed. Why did homework have to be so hard? After Transfiguration, McGonagall had pulled her aside to give her a lecture on her less than impressive essay that she had handed in the day before. Considering she'd spent roughly ten minutes on it, she wasn't all that surprised when McGonagall had asked her to stay behind at the end of the lesson.
Having taught Marlene for many years, she would have thought that McGonagall would have been used to her laid back attitude when it came to actual work, but she hadn't seemed to soften up. If anything, she'd become more strict. Magic isn't all about wand-waving, and, You'll need to be able to write essays if you want a good grade at the end of this, were some of McGonagall's favourite lines to use, but none of them had any effect on Marlene. She'd simply nod and try to look interested, but her mind was always elsewhere.
As soon as everyone else had left the classroom, McGonagall turned to Marlene with a stern look that she knew far too well. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she walked towards the desk at the front. "Yes, Professor?" she asked as innocently as possible. McGonagall's eyes narrowed.
"I have called you here about the homework you handed in yesterday," she said, her eyebrows rising, as if she was almost challenging Marlene.
"Is there something wrong with it, Professor?"
"Well, quite frankly Ms. McKinnon, yes there is." McGonagall lifted up the essay in question, which was now covered in McGonagall's red ink. Marlene remained quiet. "This is not satisfactory."
"At least I tried," Marlene protested, her anger getting the better of her.
"Well obviously not hard enough," McGonagall said. She placed the parchment back on the table and looked back to Marlene. "Ms. McKinnon, I know that you do not think homework will improve your magic. I know that you think it is a waste of time. But the fact remains, that you need to do it to get a good grade at the end of this. If you want to become an Auror, you are going to have to stand out from the other cadidates and the way to do that is to do well in your NEWTs. You are a talented witch, Ms. McKinnon. Don't let it go to waste simply because you couldn't be bothered..."
Marlene could feel her mind drifting off to think of other things. More important things. Like Quidditch...There's that match coming up and she really wanted to get out on her broom...
"...So," McGonagall continued. "I have come to the conclusion that the only way you're going to do this homework is if there's an ultimatum. That's why I've decided to stop you from doing any practical magic in class until you get to a satisfactory level."
Marlene was suddenly brought back into the room as she realised what McGonagall was saying. She couldn't stop her from doing practical magic! That's the only part of the lesson that was worth while! "Wait-What?!" Marlene shouted. "You can't do that!"
"On the contrary Ms. McKinnon, I can," McGonagall replied. "I'd like to see that essay re-done by tomorrow, or else you'll be doing it in the lesson." Marlene scowled at her Professor. "But then I'd miss the other stuff we do in the lesson!"
"Then you'd have to catch up for homework."
Marlene knew that arguing with McGonagall would get her nowhere. Once she was set on something nothing would stop her, especially when it came to homework. After that, Marlene left the classroom in a very bad mood.
It was about eight o' clock in the evening now and Marlene was as close to finishing the essay as Chudley Cannons were to finishing top in the League. It wasn't even as though Marlene wasn't smart, it was just challenging for to get her thoughts down onto paper.
She huffed and stabbed her quill into the ink pot balancing next her. She was going to finish this essay even if it meant she would die trying. There was no way she'd let anyone stop her from practicing magic.
